Tiger Woods and Justin Timberlake help Bahamas disaster efforts

Tiger Woods has teamed up to help raise funds.
The 15-time major winner and Grammy award-winning singer are together with recovery efforts and the Hurricane Dorian aid, one of the founders of the ONE Bahamas Fund.
Homes flattened killing 50 people when the category five storm hit on the islands in the Caribbean. An estimated 2,500 people are still lacking, and tens of thousands are displaced.
“It’s horrifying to see the movies and listen to the tales about the effects of Hurricane Dorian,” explained Woods.
“We are fitting each contribution dollar for dollar so if a person provides $100, we’ll match it and from that one pledgewe increase $200. Together we [the founding partners] have pledged $6m (#4.8m).
“Our hope is that others will join us in the effort so that we could actually raise $12m (#9.7m) or longer. The need at the Bahamas is quite real.”
A fifth of those Bahamas inhabitants has been made homeless and almost all of the infrastructure at Grand Bahama and Abaco Islands was destroyed.
“The pictures coming from The Bahamas are catastrophic,” said Timberlake.
“We know people everywhere want to help, and we hope through the ONE Bahamas Fund, we’re empowering the broadest number of people to get involved and support the recovery and rebuilding efforts essential to get nearly 70,000 people back to their feet.”
